During WWII there was a shortage of copper in the US because it was all needed to make ammunition. Because of this in 1943 the US mint stopped making pennies of their normal composition and started making them out of solid steel. They only did this for one years and therefore these have become very hard to find. They are really cool looking and a great educational tool or conversation starter. You will receive a roll of 50 steel cents. Please seethe photo for the condition you should expect. These are real United States coinage, not reproductions.
