Charming vintage plate with purple transferware classic pattern
Unmarked on the back and 9" in diameter
You don't see much of this lovely purple transferware!
The porcelain plate likelydates to 1930s–1950s, but could be older?
Very good condition - No signs of use on the front. Back has a small bit of old dried glue, probably from a very old price tag
Classical English countryside scene with boats, shepherds, people fishing, and ancient ruins - in a yummy mulberry plum color
2 small holes near the back rim let you hang the plate on the wall
Though unmarked, this plate is consistent with 19th- or early 20th-century English Staffordshire transferware, possibly in the style of Adams, Enoch Wedgwood, or Clarice Cliff’s Royal Staffordshire lines.
